On-Site Pull Tests

Pull tests confirm that anchors in building services suspension systems can safely support the required loads. Otherwise, anchor failure may cause equipment to fall—leading to property damage, injury, or even fatal accidents.

To carry out a test, technicians apply force in the direction the anchor must resist. Next, they measure the maximum load the anchor withstands before failure. Finally, they compare the results against design specifications to verify performance.

In many cases, building codes and regulations require pull testing of suspension system anchors as part of inspections and certifications. As a result, these tests play a key role in ensuring safety and compliance.
