UWE BRISTOL SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

 

The new state-of-the-art engineering building at UWE Bristol will contribute to the University’s vision of promoting multi-disciplinary, collaborative learning and supports the predicted increase in demand for skilled engineering graduates.

 

The building was designed hand-in-hand with the universities vibrant new practice-based curriculum and a desire to bring engineering to life through real-world problems and live industrial briefs.

 

The building’s 8,500 m² is to house specialist laboratories and workshops along with digital engineering facilities and will support 1,700 students, and 100 academic and technical staff enabling the university to further expand its successful engineering programmes.

 

Originally scheduled for completion in July 2020, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, dates were revised to facilitate partial opening in October 2020 and full completion and official opening in February 2021.

Zip-Clip solutions were used extensively throughout this project for the suspension of electrical services, HVAC, and mechanical services and for the suspension of radiant heat and acoustic panels.
