A FUSION OF ENGINEERING AND DESIGN

Zip-Clip featured in Trade and Invest Wales Magazine

Zip-Clip are proud to be featured in the Welsh Governments Trade and Invest Magazine

Zip-Clip is a Welsh company with an expanding international profile. Its cable-suspension systems feature in major construction projects from urban regeneration schemes in Qatar to the Olympic Park in London.

Based at their newly-built factory in Welshpool Mid Wales, Zip-Clip has pioneered high-specification suspension systems for use in electrical, heating, ventilation  and  airconditioning   systems.  Its products - based upon a simple but highly-effective locking system - are designed for simple and speedy installation. Steve Goldsworthy, CEO of Zip-Clip, says: "Our focus is innovation and educating the market to understand the benefits of using wire -we're determined not to be thought of as a 'me-too' company. The Welsh Government has recognised this, and taken the time to understand and support us."

Exporting is at the heart of Zip-Clip's prosperity, and the Welsh Government's innovation specialists have helped it to break new markets and win several international trade awards. Goldsworthy says: "The success of our company has really come over the past five years, when we've got involved with a number of Welsh trade missions. It's an enriching experience to get involved with different cultures outside Wales, at the same time giving us a platform to a global market with the support and expertise from government experts."

Success on the world stage forced the company to abandon its cramped headquarters and move into a new building on the outskirts of Welshpool. A further expansion programme to increase the amount of warehouse space is already under way.

Zip-Clip has now also established Zip-Clip PTY Ltd in Melbourne Australia. The new company with its own designated warehouse and offices in the suburb of Thomastown will enable Zip-Clip to better service its customer needs with reduced delivery times to its end users. The facility will stock and distribute products still manufactured from its new headquarters based in Welshpool, Wales into the Australian and New Zealand market from June 2018.

Goldsworthy says: "Before, we were working out of a 1970s Marks and Spencer tie factory. We were almost worried to invite people to our premises. We've now moved into a 25,000 square-foot unit that's purpose-built for us, and we have a proper facility where we can invite clients in. "One person said recently that when he drove past, it looked like the home of a £30 million-plus business. But we really are a growing company: we've just won a new contract that will be worth around £5 million to us."
